After reading you're post and trying link I can see you've been around that stuff for twenty years. It's lead by the way, works great but like anything else in life that's really effective it steals the minutes off our lifespan.
Cheers

Lots more dangerous things than lead. Isn't lead the stuff that protects the cardiologist when he is putting stents into people who have avoided lead and done lots of worse things like eating and smoking and --- model engineering.

I've just visited another site where it seems that ALL the model engineers have pacemakers fitted as standard issue.

Cheers

The link posted is for instead-a- lead a white lead lube substitute.

WHITE LEAD REPLACEMENT Looks, feels and performs like white lead, but contains no white lead. Use for dead centers, press fits, die sets, tapping, etc. Stays put, won't dry out or evaporate, and withstands extreme pressure.

There are other extreme pressure lubes that also work well.

Man said 'White led' His photo or whatever did not reproduce in Windows 7( or 8.1). My reply was for lead which is where he came in. I simply followed.

So apologies if requested.

GS no harm no foul. IMHO white lead is one of those things used in the past and best left there. Properly used probably will not hurt you if your keep it contained clean up spills wash hands etc.
The problem I see is in this hobby we use industrial materials and tools in a home shop environment. And many of us have pets kids or grand kids. We need to think about there safety as well.

Some oils and other chemicals in the shops in past will cause cancer.
In the past cutting oil had PCB for fire retardant.
Today I only buy cutting from home depot. Good new for 20 years most did have PCB and other cancer causing additives

FYI I found this out the hard way
