Hi everyone I brought this budenburg pressure gauge on the weekend purely because I hadn't seen one like it before! It is unused by the looks of it in its original box but I can't work out what it's for it reads from 0 to -1 bar and from 0 to -30 in.Hg ( inches of mercury) any information about this would be helpful and if anyone knows it's value? Correct , it's a vacuum gauge not a pressure gauge!

It is a glycerine oil filled vacuum gage which will last about forever. Such gages will see no pulsation which will kill gages in a day. Have been supplying same gages with every Ingersoll-Rand Vacuum Compressor leaving our Singapore shop floor. BudenBerg is a renowned pressure gage manufacturer. We normally use Ashcroft.
Please keep this as still working antique.

Thanks everyone, it was too nice looking not to buy what would it be worth gus? I've brought my first lathe this week as well!!

Hi Ben,

Wish you many happy hours!!!!th_wav
My school day dream was to build my own AeroModel Engines and 60 years later , Gus did it. My rich classmates were flying Model Planes powered by these engines and Poor Gus had to content with Rubber Power.

The problem with items like this is.

!. A new one looks very much like yours, so its not any different, no Cool factor as it would if the appearance of a gauge made 100 years ago would have.

2 The market for New Vacuum gauges is not that big, its an industrial part, for used gages the market is likely a bit more than Zero. I bought 4 Ashcroft gauges in nice shape for $3.00 each, 1 is in use the others take up space in a drawer.

3. With some friends I attended Cabin Fever, my buddy picked up an unused 10" diameter 2000 psi in 5psi tic's with certification for $20. He had worked at Nuke plants, and said a gauge like this cost $5000 when new.

It's still a pressure gauge indicating atmospheric pressure at the moment :p
That is very pedantic , most english speakers would describe such a gauge as "vacuum" , certainly not as a gauge " for measuring pressures of less than 1 atmosphere"

Vacuum gauge read in ccw rotation and in HG top picture

pressure gauge read cw rotation and in PD bottom picture

check the pictures from a UK
