I'm having trouble finding a pressure sensor at an acceptable price ie not more than 50 dollars. I need it to provide an analogue signal which indicates the pressure of air or of steam in the range of 0 to about 8 atmospheres. I think I could manage to encapsulate a naked sensor in a suitable metal case, although it's not something I've done before and I would need help on how to pass the eletrical wires though the case in a reliable and safe manner.
The encapsulated sensor would be attached to a T inserted in an air/steam pipe near to the input or exhaust of an engine under test.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions for a solution or for a search strategy.
