Hi guys,

I am about to move into our new house at the end of the month (with huge shed) and decided to give designing my new metal/fab shop in Visio a go.. but wondered if anyone had or knew of a set of workshop templates available (free) that I could use..

Hi,
I'm a huge fan of Visio, been using it for space layouts for as long as I can remember. I don't think there's any shop specific templates that are free. The pro version that I use has a bunch of manufacturing layout templates that can usually be persuaded into being what you want.
I also came across this guys web site that is geared more to woodworking, but has a good tutorial on making your own template sets. http://home.comcast.net/~hchute/woodshop_visio.htm. It's not too difficult to brew your own shapes as long as you're not looking to be artistically perfect.
Here's the layout for the shop I'm currently setting up.
