Hi,
I've been reading this great forum for a little while now. I am a retired postal worker and want to learn the art of machining. I have a Taig mill and Sherline lathe. I just bought a G0704 and an Enco 9x20 lathe. I'm still collecting tooling and educational material. I know I will learn a lot from this forum.
Thanks

Wil

Wil,

That's a nice selection of machines. I am just, over the last year, outfitting my shop as well. It's the tooling that will set you back. The nice thing is, I have been doing it piece meal, so the wife has not noticed (I think :)).

So: Upper Michigan as in Upper Lower or the UP?

welcome Wil Glad to have you. I have a place in Christmas . Dale

Not to hyjack Wil's hello: BUT, I love Christmas. It's been some years but we have traveled many times in the area. As I recall there is a good campgrourd there. Also, years ago, hiked and boated the PR lake shore before Grand Portal collapsed and the top blew off Miner's Castle.

Sorry Wil, I'll shut up.

I just ordered a Glacern 4" vise today. I bought the dro-pro's set up and got a set of r8's and er32's. I'm up pretty far north. Calumet. I retired out of the Hougton post office 3 years ago. Yes I've been through Christmas a couple of times. We live in little traverse in the summer.

Hi
I live in Laurium and I have a machine shop in my basement. I'm on Lake Linden Ave. just down the street from 41 lumber.

Welcome, Wil and Yooper!

Wait -- I just realized this thread is nearly 10 years old. It doesn't look like Yooper has posted since then, and Wil has only posted a few times. I guess my "welcome" is about 9 years and 11 months too late ...
