Hello;

I'am Barry , living in Belgium & I'am 41 years young. engines is a part of my life. I collect modelengines. Now it is time to build one.......I have already some years & lathe & a milling machine. Not the best quality but ok.
I am a electrician & I work now 20 years in swimming pools.
Never education about turning or milling. I like to read here for learning how-to......Also youtube is good. The movies from MYFORDBOY are very good.

Now I start to build a flame licker from Jan Ridders.....A lot of trial & error.
But I try it & when he is not working. Ok for me. Next time better.

Best regards & a happy new year

Barry

Welcome to the forum Barry and thanks for the introduction. Lots of advice on HMEM and pictures often help solve problem questions

Welcome Barry. Je m'appelle Jacques-Claude. from Oregon USA. I have been a machinist for trente ans, and now retired. I have small equipment, not "professional", but it works. Again, welcome to the site ...et Bonne Annee.

Hi Barry, Welcome to the group. Keep at it. Your luck (skill) will improve with time and practice. I have a couple of engines on the shelf that didn't turn out as planed. Some day I will get back to them and make them work.

Welcome Barry, this is a good place to show your work and to obtain advice.

Welcome to the forum Barry and good luck with your engine projects,
Stew.

Thank you my friends. Now I'am searching where I can post some pics from my workshop.

Hi Barry ,
Welcome to HMEM.

No worry. I make many mini steam engines and run.But the very first engine was stubborn. Finally got it running and from there no
problem with other engines.
I have two IC engines that just won't run. Both on my Computer Desk as display. Plan to rebuilt both.Made too many fatal errors.
IC engines are not very forgiving. Steam engines are.forgiving.

Thanks Gus. And.........I love fishing also.
I make also once a steam engine. But after all it was a great mess......; but it runs with air & I was very happy. Then with a little too much air he blocked!
I use steam oil. I trow that thing away. It was very bad soldered with silver. But now I have a good torch & will build it again.
