You've done a lovely job on that one Chuck. It sounds spectacular. I would be hard pressed to let it go to a new home if it came out of my shop.

Chuck, I'd hate to see it leave the shop too. Your Open Column Twin and the little "Deere like" green two cylinder horizontal air engine were my two favorites of the engines you've built.

I suspect you'll get a good price for the twin.

Regards,

Chuck Kuhn

Unfortunately, I find that I rarely run this engine. It's kind of finicky to get it to idle and I worry about running it very long for fear of it overheating. I need to make room for more builds and the money helps support my gadget habit! Time to thin the herd, but I won't be selling the little John Deere engine or any of my compressed air engines for that matter, they're my favorites, easy to run, and fun to listen to. Those will be part of my estate...

I suspect you will get a nice price. You know what is best for you, but I do regret selling a couple of steamers a few years back.

Be sure you emphasize its origin - "One of a kind, hand crafted by expert machinist, blah blah" so that people know it's not something off the shelf. There are collectors that go nuts over hand-crafted engines like this.

Good luck with your sale Chuck. That is a neat engine and your video shows it.

Chuck, the hourly rate probably stinks, but I think you should be proud of how your engine did.
That'll buy some new toys to play with :)

Thanks, Brian. I had thought the engine might bring as much as $1200 but I'm happy with what I got.
