Hello all,

I hope you enjoy this video of my (almost finished) beam engine.
I started this way back in December 2010, had a fire in my shop which put it on the back burner (pun intended) for at least 6 months, and since then I have been in the progress of making a few engines.
In this vid you should see a couple of my earlier ones somewhere!!

I will freely admit that I am crap when it comes to logging my builds and also confess that this beam is not quite finished.

Not finished in as much that I have a few rough edges to finish and I am also wondering what colour scheme would suit it. I have seen some ideas on here but I am open to suggestions please.

I want to keep the brass/copper parts as is and though I have seen pics of beams, I would like to have this finished off with a nice finish.

Kind regards,

Ron.

PS,

This is from a free plan from Julius.A.M Waal and somewhere on here, I attempted to make a work in progress!!

 Going by Fancy's size that's a BIG engine Ron - good going Thm:

Unfortunately I can't comment on the colour scheme; I seem to get stuck at dark blue and shiny bare metal bits :big:

Kind regards, Arnold

I forgot to mention that my compressor is not running correctly and I am not happy that the beam is turning so quickly.
This will/and has run on a lot less pressure then it is now.
Tomorrows job is to fix said machine.

Kind regards,

Ron.

What a great engine Ron.I really like the dual beams. Thm:Do you have a link to the plans?

Hi Bill.

The plans are, or rather were, free from the www.modelengineeringwebsite.com
I say "were" as they are now on a disk for which they charge a nominal fee (and cheap as chips too)!.
If you go to the site you will understand what I mean by them having to charge a fee for a disk!!

Kind regards,

Ron.

Thanks Ron,it's on it's way.

Believe me Bill.

This is such a good engine to build that I didn't even have to "tune" it in. I just hooked up an air-gun and off it went!!
if you do decide to make one, give me an email and I'll try and help as a couple of dimensions are not quite right but nothing serious, just minor.

Kind regards,

Ron.
