Oops! Sorry folk been lurking so long forgot to introduce meself.
Suffering from advanced middle-age (67) and came very late to this hobby.
Proud owner of an AL320G 12x36 lathe with a 32mm spindle bore and a HM32 mill
plus sundry other tools all of which I am learning to use. Hope in time to be
able to contribute to the forum. One question, when does one stop making tools
for your tools and start making models
Cheers

Welcome from Perth.

Start making an engine and proceed until you need a tool. Stop to make the tool and then continue making the engine. Repeat for ever ;D

Welcome Kes.

It seems like we are being over run by antipodeans just recently, but the more the merrier I say. Thm:

I have basically the same lathe, and have grown to love it, it has done everything I asked of it, and I still haven't taken it to it's limits.

Jan has got how engines are made down to a 'T',

Hi and welcome Paul/Keskeesha. Isn't it great to have a large spindle bore. My first lathe only had 3/8"

Had an ML7 then neened to turn an axle 28mil and too long for
the ML7 to turn between centres thats how I wound up with the AL320G
Not too bad as I got almost 1/2 ($600) the price for the ML7.
