UPS just delivered this 3.25" 4-jaw chuck for a rotary table. It's from Grizzly (part T10053).
Sometimes moving the 6" 4 jaw to the rotary table is a real PITA (take it off the lathe, carry to mill, mount it, center it, etc).
In addition, its usually overkill as far as size for the part and kills a lot of the Z room.
Saw this on the Grizzly website. Looks to be nicely made. After I Simple Greened and oiled it, it appears to be nicely machined and is really made to mount on a rotary table (although Grizzly says it's for their 4" rotary table it looks to be a nice fit on my 6" Phase II. Came with inside and outside jaws, key and mounting bolts.
It will probably live on the 6" rotary table.

Stan I like your tupperware screw driver holder very simple ingenious solution.

Stan did you make the backplate or did it come with it?

Don

The holder is not as high end as Tupperware. Dollar store find.
The backplate came with the chuck. It's really worked out well and the extra headroom is much appreciated. My only other 4 jaw is a 6" (about twice as high)

X2 for the tupper ware screw driver holder, beats the heck out of my coffee cup holder. And you will like the four jaw also, great addition to your kit.

Stan,
Can you please tell me the name and model of your rotary table

thanks
Wayne

It is a 6" Phase II Horizontal and Vertical.
Almost made a mistake when I ordered it and originally selected the horizontal-only. Quickly corrected. I use it nearly as much in the vertical as te horizontal.
