I have a chance to purchase a little-used (if at all) 4-jaw universal (scroll type where all jaws move together instead of the independent style) at a great price. It is intended for a Taig lathe. The mounting is a 3/4"-16 internal thread.

How best to mount it on a mini-lathe?

Thanks

I would make an adaptor plate with a threaded 3/4-16 male arbor. mount the adaptor plate to the mini lathe than thread the 4 jaw chuck to it.

if you do the machining of the 3/4 threaded part in place or insutu it will insure accuracy and minimize run out

Thanks for the replies.

Great idea with the MT spindle. I can get a 3MT adapter with a blank, unhardened nose that I can machine.

4jaws scroll type chuck. You're likely to make use of the through feature with that chuck, an MT3 adapter would prevent that.
No way to drill 3 or 4 holes on the back of the chuck to fasten it to an adapter plate for the lathe spindle?

I bought what I thought was a 4 " 4 jaw independant jaw chuck on E-Bay, only to find it was a 4 jaw self centering chuck. I made an adapter for it, and it is now my most used chuck on my 7x14 Micromark Lathe! The origional 3" 3 jaw is relegated to the Rotary Table, though the 4" will fit as I made a copy of the lathe spindle nose on a MT2 taper to adapt all my chucks and face plate to the RT.
I'm sure LMS has adapters if you don't want to roll your own. PM me if you need help.
