Is there a way to follow a topic without getting notified of new posts, or does the notifications only show up here and not on my email?

Perhaps little questions like these are or could be grouped together somewhere for some of our more impatient members.

Post a reply to the topic (like "Hi just adding my 2c to follow this thread ....") and thereafter you just click on "Show new replies to your posts" and any topics that have been added to will be listed.

It doesn't just refer to topics you have started - but any topic you have replied to.

At the top and bottom right hand side, next to the reply button, is a button marked "Notify".
Use this button to turn notices on or off about new replies to a thread. No need to reply to a thread to receive notices when using this button.
