Hello,
I'm Charles. I live in Round Rock Tx. I've been doing woodworking for some time
and a few years back did it professionally when I managed a cabinet/millwork shop
in Bee Caves. Just got the machining/model engine "bug" after watching some
videos on you tube. Really enjoyed Tubal Cain, a.k.a. mrpete222. Time to start doing
something new.
Ordered a Micro Mark 7x16 lathe and the Microlux milling machine. I'm holding
off on unpacking and setting them up until I've finished a roll around cabinet/island
to mount them on. Just finished building the carcass and primed it. Still need to build
the drawers and install the draw slides.
Anyway hopefully in a couple or four weeks I'll be making some chips.

Welcome from a fellow central Texan (Georgetown, just up the road).

You will enjoy the forum and all these guys have to offer. Lots of help at your finger tips...just ask.

Jeff

Welcome Charles. How about some pictures of your woodworking as you set up shop...anything shop related is fair game here :)

Tegards,
Bill

Thanks everyone.
Bill,
I'll post some pictures once I get the roll around painted.
Hopefully next weekend if it's warm enough to paint.

Come on by the Austin Metal Working Etc group meeting sometime. Attendance may be light this month with the cold though.

Hi Shred,
Sounds good but I'm not finding a lot of info on Austin Metal Working Etc group.
Must be my Google/Yahoo -fu isn't working. Got a linky?
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Lots of reformed woodworkers here.

AustinMetalworkingEtc @ yahoogroups is the group. I'll send a PM with the meeting info and such, since it's tomorrow.

An another welcome from Texas - far South Texas - San Benito is a bit far from the rest of you to be sociable...

grumble...grumble...wet cold weather...grumble...grumble...wet cold weather...
Still supposed to be in the 40's this weekend and I don't like painting unless the temps
above 50, so I've decided to head over to Fine lumber in Austin, pick up some baltic
birch and make the drawer boxes. Not the progress I wanted but progress none the
less. I'll try to get some pictures. Don't laugh about the messy state of the shop.
;D
