A tailstock die-holder.
An MT2 Live Center (inspired by Weebly's site). The die-holder will fit this as well.
And a drawbar hammer/wrench.

beautiful!

Is this really a live center? Do you use needle bearings?

Nice looking bits!

i like the hammer/wrench idea

Thanks!

It is a live center. It has a single 1/4" ball inside to rotate on. Look here: http://mikesworkshop.weebly.com/revolving-centres.html
It's not quite as smooth running as my store-bought live center but it lots smaller so doesn't get in the way as much. I measured the runout on it and it's 1 to 1.5 thou--just a tad worse than my store-bought one (i think I got the bore on the tip a tad too large). And as the link above shows, you can make other tips for it as well.

Great work!!! I might have to have a go at one of those centers. Just to see how they work.

I'm realy impressed with the hammer wrench. How did you go about making it?

Peter

The hammer wrench is just a chunk of bronze (I think--maybe Red Brass) turned to size then bored for a socket to fit into. I was trying for a nice press fit--but, typical of my latest boring attempts, it was way too tight the first try then slipped right in the next. A good dose of super-glue is holding it in place and since it sees very little torque it will work fine. The handle is just some cheap home-depot steel turned down, threaded 3/8"-16 for attaching to the head, then knurled. The end near the head is just barely less than 1/2", that let me spot face the head with a 1/2" endmill then drill and tap for the handle. Some blue loctite holds it together. Try to locate the handle so the head is balanced or a tad heavy on the hammer-end.

Thanks for the info. Another tool on my to-do list
yours
