Here is a photo of the parts I have made so far of a 5cc v twin water cooled glow plug engine.I am using 2 Cox 2.5cc pistons & liners I had in a cupboard and the rest I am making out of my head as I go.

Maybe I am strangebut this is usually how I make things.I just get an idea and then I try to make it.I am no good at doing drawings and hopeless at maths , but I seem to have ability with my hands.

Hope this all makes sense,Regards Ian (seagar).

it makes sense to me!
the idea is more than interesting and it seems that you could implement it
well done till now, best wishes for a complete success

Ian,

I just get an idea and then I try to make it

There is nothing wrong with working that way at all.

Most of the time, that is the way I work. I pick up on a method someone has used or I have seen somewhere, then just go for it.

There is very little new about these days, just new twists on old ideas.

Good luck on your enterprise, I can't wait to see what it turns out like.
Don't worry if it doesn't run first time. Put it under the bench for a while and go back to it later, when you have a little more experience of other things, and then using that knowledge, you might be able to sort it.

Hi bogs, thanks for your encouragement,I am totally self taught ,infact I had never seen a vertical mill in the flesh until I purchased mine on ebay about a year ago and very little experience on a lathe. Now with the help of this forum, I am having a lot of fun filling my mistake box and occasionly making something that works.

regards,
Ian (seagar)

Ian,

Go for it. Looking forward to seeing the progress in the flesh.

Best Regards
Bob
