    Mini-lathes

I bought both the lathe and the mill from The Little Machine Shop and am very satisfied with both. The quality is good and the customer service is great. Accuracy is fine for anything I intend to make. Both machines are highly recommended by me for what that's worth.

    Okay, now I understand

I also have a round column mill. And I have used Bridgeports in the past. The difference is like that between a bicycle and a Cadillac. Both will get you to the same place but one will get you there in style. Don't discount what your mill can do. I turn out some precision parts on mine and it...

    NEMES Show, Feb 18

No, no, not their real names, I would never ask that. The screen names they use here on the chat rooms is what I was asking. And, of course, it could be voluntary. If they don't want to they don't have to. It is too bad about Fire Dept. They must have showed up after I left. I pray an agreement...

When it makes sense to spend the $$....

A little story: Back in the 80's, I ran a tool crib for a manufacturing company. I ordered good quality tooling from USA and some Israeli stuff and good tools were coming out of Japan. I ordered some drill bits and drills from Brazil were ship in. I thought, "Brazil??? Since when does Brazil...

    Humour

Back in the days of wooden ships and iron men there was rather successful pirate who haunted the shipping lanes with his fierce band of cutthroats. A cry came from the crow's nest, "Ship off the starboard bow!! An English merchantman!! "AARGHH! cried the pirate captain. "Cabin boy! Fetch me my...

    Happy Groundhog Day!!

I've shot 3 of them in my backyard. I'll be damned if all my hard work in the garden is going to feed these underground rats!

    Big Dog

That has been in the works for about a year that we know of, probably much more. Made right here in Massachusetts, just outside of Boston. One of our salesmen used to call on them. He never got past the office because everything is classified, Top Secret. As you can see in the video, the...

    Machinists in demand

When I first started out, an old machinist told me, "Being a machinist will always put bread on the table. It won't put cake, but it will always put bread on the table."

    Ducati Elenore

Well Mosey I'm not familiar with motorcycle engines. One of the guys in the shop knows I make miniature engines and told me about the Elenore. But I think we just found your next engine project in the Mach 1 :big: You could do a build thread and we could follow along!
