    V-TWIN---MAYBE V-4

i like it. the knurled tip that you are pulling to "give it more gas" is that an adjuster screw to for lack of better words adjust the idle speed? or is it just knurled to give you something to grab hold of to pull it?

How to make this thin wall brass part?

i have been learning and experimenting with metal spinning with some really good results for my crude setup. what i have been doing is 3d printing a form to spin the metal around. im just using a lathe/mill combo hobby machine similar to a "smithy" that i made a tool post to hold my rod for...

so Brian, whats your ideas on why it wouldnt suck fuel with your original intake? im not asking because i have a suggestion or anything, just wondering is all. are you thinking that one cylinder is letting the suction pass thru to the other cylinder during its intake stroke thus not putting...

Lloyd, i just now was reading this thread and saw your post. several years ago i was a member of the technology council in SW Virginia and there was mention of someone using technology for the chicken door opener. if i recall the Gov. of Va at the time was even at that meeting. i want to say...

how to figure the off set to drill this hole at an angle

not that one but i did look at it. its this one which is very similar. i figured i would use a roller bearing on the spinny part and make it out of aluminum. the body from brass and the horn part - i have been practicing metal spinning with surprisingly decent results lately so was going to...

sorry for the double post but didnt get the quote in the one above Whittler, that looks like one of the pattent drawings i saw (didnt have dimensions or anything) so i found a similar one on thingieverse and printed it out to get the dimensions from (slightly different than what yours and the...

Lloyd and Jasonb, thank you both for that. i had since i posted that found a web site talking about how to calculate this for installing plumbing pipe and drilling the holes in the floor, walls etc for it. same math and i was struggling with it reading those sites. but with your answers and...

how to figure the off set to drill this hole at an angle

Jasonb the info in this picture you provided is what im looking for. but i guess a better way to ask instead of saying i "dont understand the math" would be to say what formula did you use to get what is circled in red below. im guess it will involve knowing the angle of the hole. the size of...

how to figure the off set to drill this hole at an angle

but i dont understand the math you are using. i get you are going half of the .125 drill for the offset but thats assuming a 45 degree angle drill. what if the hole degree is say 60 degree? or are you going half of the .125 part thickness? or a combination of the 2? thing is, i plastic...

how to figure the off set to drill this hole at an angle

hi, so this is not engine related but just a fun project i wanted to do for my grand kids. a siren whistle. i did not make the 3d stl files, i just downloaded from thingieverse. but for this part the holes are drilled around the perimiter at lets say 45deg angles. and for the life of me i...

    V-TWIN---MAYBE V-4

Brian, on the Crank Case Vent suggestion, do you think maybe remove the pipe plug in the oil filler elbow and maybe take an old grease rag or something over it with a rubber band to keep it covering the hole just for a test? sure without a grease rag or something it would likely blow oil out...

    V-TWIN---MAYBE V-4

not sure if you have a tractor supply in Canada or not (or even near by) but they used to have very cheap 12 and 6 volt coils for old tractors. i picked up my coil for my old farmall there years ago seems like about 25.00. but who knows if inflation and such what they sell for there now days...
