    Which Spindle coolant to use?

I just received my new CNC Mini mill. It has a 2.2 kW water-cooled spindle and I have heard from friends that I need to add something to the distilled water to prevent rusting. Most people have told me to add antifreeze to the water at 2:1 ratio. When I google on the subject some have reported...

What paint to use on Workshop floor?

Hi I have just had a double garage built to become my new workshop. The floor is currently just smooth cement. What paint should I use? I got a quote for a thin and thick layer of epoxy coverings, but it is way out of my price range, like $1000. Also, if a drop a shard heavy metal piece on it...

How to Cool a sealed 10 gallon container?

With open lid, an internal box temp of 25° C will result in a HDD's temps of about 37° C. When lid is closed, the internal of box temp slowly climes and when it reaches around 35° C the HDD's reach 50° C. HDD's will die sooner running at 50° C or over. The NAS has 8 x 14TB HDD drives that cost...

    Optical center punch formula

Could everyone with a commercial optical punch please measure the radius and length (from top of curve of radius to flat base) of their optical punches and post the results here. This needs to be done accurately as a little out changes the ratio. I am interested because the commercial ones do...

    Optical center punch formula

I tried to experiment today on cutting a 81 mm radius without any luck. How does one go about this? I do not have a ball turner. 81 mm is big even for most ball turners.
