    hot black oxidation

I am no Chemist, but I believe that "Nitre de soda" is Sodium nitrate sometimes referred to as "Chile Saltpeter" due to the large quantities in Chile. One of the many uses for it, is fertilizer, so I assume that it is quite available in Brazil. Sodium nitrate is a Oxidizer as is Potassium...

    Tests of CDI Ignition Modules

I had viewed this some time back and he does a nice presentation of his attempts to get to the large sparks that are shown. His explained in very good detail with schematics and reasoning why he chose which components he used for each failure or success. What he doesn't tell you on his final...

    Tpactools DRO Calibration

Your are absolutely correct! I guess my mind was on mapping ball screws where at times it seems to be a exercise in futility. Damn getting old and one's mind wanders in the wrong direction is aggravating.

    Tpactools DRO Calibration

I agree! If your machine is properly trammed and the scales are mounted parallel to the surface of each axis, you should be fine. A DRO will not correct errors of a bad/poor condition machine. Trying to do so, would be like a dog chasing its tail.:)

    FreeCAD: A moderately complex example

I appreciate this Zeb! Inventor meets my needs, but I would like to play around with some different tools. These look like are a good place to start.

    FreeCAD: A moderately complex example

I am curious to which rendering program did you use for the texture in the second drawing?

    Tests of CDI Ignition Modules

Yeah, I'm aware of the list that you wrote, and the sparkplug is just one item in that list, as they all play into how well an engine performs. I probably should have better described my thoughts on the plugs better. Earlier in this thread you said, "Hard to say if it gets more energy into the...

    Tests of CDI Ignition Modules

Don, I want to thank you for working on this project! I always strive to learn something new each day and never really thought that I would be so interested in the spark of a sparkplug, but your presentation has peaked my interest. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and after...

    Tests of CDI Ignition Modules

“You can see this clearly in websites from folks that make them, especially ferrite cores where its easy to grind in a gap, they state a zero gap inductance and then less and less inductance as they grind in more more and more gap.” To a layman like me, this could make perfect sense if you look...

v8 wont run for longer than 10 seconds

Here is one way to see if there is a leak between the carb and the fuel manifold. Easier to show than to explain so click HERE.,

v8 wont run for longer than 10 seconds

Gotcha, I was thinking some type of a sensor that might shut down the system. It sounds good until it quits, but only starting up at fuel choke certainly does point to a fuel system problem. Any possibility that there may be an air leak around the base of the carburetor?

v8 wont run for longer than 10 seconds

This is the fuel filter/pump that I was talking about. Just trying to see if we are both on the same page.:)

v8 wont run for longer than 10 seconds

I can't give you a direct answer to your problem, but there are a couple of things in the photo's posted that puzzle me. 1: The black box on the lower right in pictures 1&2 seems to have a cable that is not plugged in to anything? Don't believe it means anything though. 2: What looks to be a...

    Searching for milling machine

Honestly, I don't believe that a 100-kg machine would be my choice. Then again, I have seen some amazing work coming off a Sherline lathe! What's your budget? You realize that tooling isn't cheap? How easy is it to get parts for the machine if it needs to be repaired? Ok, you want a name of...
