Sounds like the way to go as the parts themselves are not overly large and the rotary table is only a 3 incher.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. Tried both the parallel and shim (tounge depresspor) methods and both worked after head scratching on how to clamp all down. Clamps left barely enough room for the workpiece. Would hot gluing a shim/work sandwich to the table withstand the cutting forces...

After fooling with a Chinese boring bar set for half an hour and getting crappy results, I finished it with a 1/2 in drill in the lathe tail stock and the results were very good. Did a second one by progressively drilling a larger hole after starting with a center drill and that went smoothly...

Have a .75 aluminum round, .5 inch long and it needs a .5 inch hole thru. Better to drill or mill?

What does one use to shim under a flat part when edge milling on a rotary rable? Don't want to gouge the table inadvertently.

Finally broke down and ordered a rotary table. Now just have to figure out how to use it!;)

Looking more like that there is a rotary table in my future as I value all my digits to remain intact.

I'm making what I call a kinematic model of the one on the website, externally powered to make all the bits move. Currently working on the more linear parts.
