    Build a mini caterham

Its been a while since my last update - got a bit distracted during lockdown with other projects - including the rewiring of a denford CNC micro mill. This weekend I made some more progress on the Mini Caterham project and made the rear wheel hub bearing carriers. The parts were made using the...

Starting with the Boll Aero 18

Yea if it rotated in the collet the the setup would be ruined. The collet had a good hold and I took very light passes. It wasn't possible for me to put it directly in the 4 jaw Chuck as the small diameter of the shaft combined with the offset ment on of the jaws wanted to pass the centre of...

    Build a mini caterham

So over the last couple of weeks I've made the steering rack for my mini caterham project and got it fitted. Good to see some moving parts I've also have a nose cone 3D printing so I can work out what space I have for the radiator which I've bought. (PC radiator) I've also bought a module 1 -...

Some very interesting reading. Thanks for posting. Once I get to the piston and cylinder I will be reading all this carefully. Some more progress made yesterday with the main / crank bearing made

Starting with the Boll Aero 18

Thanks for the tips. I'll have a look into turning the crank as one part. How do you approach turning a crank? At the moment I think I would do it between two centres

Starting with the Boll Aero 18

Last week I started on the crank case cap. However after a few minutes of frustration with my lathe I decided to take the cross slide apart and open up the diameter of and replace the gib screws. The hex in the original ones were rounded and which ment I couldn't adjust them anymore. However...

Cool. I don't suppose you would have any contacts that could help me get hold of a cad model on the body work that I could scale to my chassis would you? I'm planning on 3d printing molds and making carbon fiber panels
