One engine that you may be able to adapt for your project, is the Centaur gas engine there are plans and castings available for this engine in the UK see link. Link Mike1

Hi K2, The engine is blowing back all the time as it has no exhaust valve, basically the flame size and it's position has to be adjusted so the blow back doesn't blow the flame out. Mike 1

Brian, I will second Jason's theory on the valve timing, when I built my "Stockport" vacuum engine it would not run, I blamed piston fits, flame positions, flame size, but no it was the timing that was stopping the engine from running, I spent more time getting the valve timing right by trial...

You seem to have checked out everything, wiring, battery, but I notice you are rotating the engine in a anti clockwise direction during the test, should the engine be rotated clockwise when facing the flywheel as you are in your video. Mike1
