    Over engineered electronic dividing head

Hi all, Been quite for a while now, as my hobby has been set aside because of work. Finding a bit of time now and then to think about building something, and thought a dividing head would be a great project. As I was looking for ideas, I came across a thread here called "Arduino Rotary Table...

    Astro Skeleton clock.

That is one marvelous work of art! I can't even imagine how much work has been put into all those parts. Marinus

    My tiny "Tiny" build

Thank you all for the kind words. I didn't make a lot of progress, because I had to study for exams. The connecting rod has been made, took a few tries to get it right. It was machined from aluminium. The blank was cut out and then it was squared up in the mill and the recess cut for the...

    My tiny "Tiny" build

Hi all, I wanted to build a small IC engine, small enough to put my skills to the test, asked around here on HMEM and Cogsy gave me a link to PUTPUTMAN aka Arv's Tiny IC. Okay so almost a week ago I started cutting away at my first part, which was unsuccessful. Well I couldn't leave the...

Plans for a small IC gas engine

Hi KF2QD, Thank you for the suggestion. I like that engine alot, but I don't enough alu stock at the moment to build one that size. Hi Al, I wrote physics, but still managed to get some work done in between studying. Piston, cylinder and head is finished, except for the mounting holes. Spark...

    Throwaway milling cutters

Hi all, While looking through my Cromwell's catalogue, I noticed that there are "throwaway" Kennedy milling cutters for fairly cheap. I really don't know what is meant with "throwaway", because if you don't have a cutter grinder, you just throw them away in anyway! Or at least recycle them to...

    IC engine ignition box

Hi all, I'm currently taking on putputman's Tiny and I was wondering a bit about the ignition box setup. I have a hall effect sensor and some small magnets on order, but don't quite know about the rest. Does anyone have any plans for the circuit and coil for using a hall effect sensor? I have...

Plans for a small IC gas engine

Hi Marcus, Thank you for the suggestion. I had a look at the build a while ago and it's quite a nice engine, although I'd prefer to build a gas engine at the moment. Hi Al, That Tiny caught my eye! Thanks for the link. Started cutting away yesterday. The Fuel tank is mostly finished and the...

    Plan drawing programs

I'll second that. I have used Turbocad before and it's a pain to draw anything on there. Fusion 360 on the other hand is very easy to learn and has a lot of functions. Try Fusion 360, you won't regret it ;)

Plans for a small IC gas engine

Hi all, Is there any plans available for a small (around 1/2" bore and 1/2") gasoline or petrol engine, preferably an aero style engine. I've never built a "real" IC engine before, just a pulse jet(that doesn't work) and a bunch of steam and air engines. Any links or pictures would be...

    Simple Oscillating Engine

The very first steam engine that I've built. My dad helped my build this one and I have learned a lot from my dad. I've gotten the plans from www.stevesworkshop.co.uk . This engine runs quite well, except for the fact that is worn out.
