Ruberg 6x12 surface grinder saddle lock?

Thanks for the pointers guys, I've used grinders in the past (larger auto traverse units) but this is the first machine I've owned. I've ground a few items on this one already and the rhythm was easy to pickup. Now that I've had it fully apart, I can confirm that there is no fore/aft...

Ruberg 6x12 surface grinder saddle lock?

Thanks for your replies Todd and Paul, Yep the Ruberg has double V ways on the vertical and fore/aft axis __\▀▀▀▀/__ and simple caged balls running in grooves for the left/right axis. My interest in the way lock was on the for/aft axis and mainly for stopping...

Hi Guys, It's been a while. I just picked up an old Ruberg surface grinder. Does anyone know if it has a saddle lock? I've had a look around but all I can find are the gib adjustments. Also, does anyone have a heads up on the lube for the saddle and z axis ways. Iv'e already cleaned...

    Reamer Resizing

I've heard that running a burnishing tool down the back of the cutting edge will shrink the cutting size a tad. BUT I haven't tried it, or needed to. Just hear say on my part. One of the more knowledgeable chaps will know for sure. I personally would not hone it while spinning it in chuck...

    Cnc steppers

I'll second the 387's. I run them direct drive with a Gecko 540 @ 50 volts on the X and Y axis of my converted X3 mill. I also run a 1200oz direct drive @ 80V on the head, but you won't need that. I have no problem cutting at 1000mm/min. Cheers, Phil

I just want to say thanks to John Stevenson and the guys from ARC Euro for making these cool little blocks available. Delivery was super fast, they were dispatched on Monday and arrived in Western Australia on Thursday. (4 days Thm:) I turned down a few M6 cap screw heads to reduce the exposed...

    Humour

HALLOWEEN A man was walking homealone late one foggy night, when behind him he hears: BUMP... BUMP... BUMP... Walking faster, he looks back and through the fog he makes out the image of an upright casket banging its way down the middle of the street toward him. BUMP... BUMP... BUMP...

Just put the order through. There were six of us all together and the items worked out to just under $50 AU for the two sets including shipping to West Oz. It would have been just over $70 AU if we had gone it alone. Thanks guys for putting your hand up and getting together. Cheers...

Yep 5 it is. I plan to place the order on Friday night. That will give me a chance to find out the weight and work out the shipping to East Aus. Still room for a few more to join in. I'l keep you all informed by PM. Cheers, Phil Update: Arc Euro replied to my query about the combined weight of...

Small 10-20-40 blocks that actually work.

Just a quick question for those guys that have got the two sets. What do they weigh? Armed with that knowledge and the Australia Post shipping calculator, the eastern states boys can decide if it's worth jumping in on the Western Australia order or organising there own bulk order. Three sets...
