    Does anyone know where I can obtain steel balls undersize and oversize. I can buy 1/4, 3/8,/1/2 inch and Etc., but I am looking for 3 or 4 thousandths undersize and 3 or 4 thousandths oversize. Thanks

    Worn Tap Broken

    The best way to remove broken taps is don't break them. DO NOT USE CARBON TAPS. They are like peanut brittle and snap off if you look at them wrong. Use HSS or cobalt

    Babbitt bearings

    To repair the oval shaped bore, I guess bore it round 1/16 to 1/8 oversize. You can make the babbitt not stick by painting the area with a horsehair acid brush with stove polish that you can buy at any woodstove store. It is just carbon black powder in a alcohol, or some other quick drying...

    I poured babbitt bearings and machined them for 25 years. What little I know about babbitt bearings I would be glad to share. I actually do not know why no one seems to use babbitt for model engineering. Larry

    DRO skips

    Hi, I have a Bridgeport type mill with a SARGON x and y digital read out. It skips on one of the read outs. Any one have any idea how to fix it. Thanks, Larry

    Pratt and Whitney

    I junked a Pratt and Whitney #2 jig Borer and kept the tooling. Can anybody tell me what the taper is called on this tooling and what else would this machine fit. Thanks, Larry
