    Tabletop CNC

Hi Brian and all, I developed a tabletop 3 axes CNC milling machine some years ago. It is a quite strong machine with the frame cast in aluminum. I have some sets of cast parts in two stage of finish. Six of then are just the cast parts and other four are mechanized end paired. Do you think...

    Battery Jacks

Do not forget the old and trusty Aviation Connectors. Depending on the size and the number of pins they can carry a good amount of current. They may look bulky but are metallic, water proof, heat resistant and look quite nice. Here is a link to a blog that describe they...

Small air power supply for engines models.

Thank you! It may have been that I was not able to find the right English words to write a more catching title... (: Pneumatic works really well with CO2 and these little cartridge are cheap and useful in many applications.

    3d Printed Double Acting Engine

Hi all, I started a new thread yesterday to share my experience and discuss another alternative but found that it seems to be no much interest in the subject (because I have not received any comments on that thread). So I just would like to invite you to visit it...

Small air power supply for engines models.

I was following this thread 3d Printed Double Acting Engine There were some proposals about a little/cheap air power supply capable to run the engines model and I remembered that I use many years ago a 16 grams CO2 cartridge to operate a single action pneumatic cylinder to actuate as a press...

Said I would never do it.

Who knows! They just sell the info to everyone interested in the data and also share the info between their own companies.

Said I would never do it.

Unfortunately this is the world in which we are living nowadays. Being a System Analyst I have fighting against all these from years but having poor success or no success at all. If you use FB, WhatsApp any social media platform or even if you have an Android cell phone you are screwed. More...

    G-Code error HELP!

It seems to me that there is a rectangle hidden in the original DXF file. Would you have a deactivated layer there? Have you started with a rectangle and then did and offset and forgot to delete the original shape? I would look for something like that in the CAD file.

That happens to me too! LOL

    Index table arduino suggestion

I just would like to tell you all some things about Arduinos that might be interesting to you to know... Regarding the communication, I mean USB to TTL conversion, there are (at least?) three chips to do that. They are the FT232RL by FTDI who was the developer of this technology, then the...

    CNC controller

There is also an Android App called Grbl Controller for the Arduinos Uno, Nano, etc. It supports wireless (Bluetooth) or wired connections using a OTG cable. I tried it with my machine and runs quite well.

    The X axis.

Peter, You can use that PWM appliance to control your old screwdriver mod. You can set a frequency and then varying the duty cycle you can control the motor's speed with little power lost at low speeds. Also I would like to comment that you do not need an Arduino or any other micro-controller...

    The X axis.

Hey Andy, I do not know why but your post remembered me that old joke... "There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary and those who don't!" :)

    Lamp Post Engine

Your Lamp Post Engine is beautiful. Congratulations! This remembered me the Gastown Steam Clock in Vancouver. I was there in 1991 and was surprised with the thing... it was really nice to see and hear. Then I learned that it is not a real steam powered machine but it is amazing anyway.

3020 China mill ?s and issues.

Peter, stl (stereolithography ) is a type of 3D files. It is a 3D model of the object you want to produce. You cannot "convert" it to anything but you can process it using a CAM software to generate the toolpaths for 3D mechanizing or a slicer for 3D printing. Once you have the toolpaths...
