    Kozo A3 in 1.5" scale

I too had started this engine in 2008 and let it sit in my shop for maybe seven years or so while I built many other models. I finally picked it up again last summer after visiting the Finger Lakes Live Steamers and Steam Town in scranton, Pa. I took advantage of the stay at home orders and got...

    Boring and Facing Head

I found no emissions in drawings but I did make a couple changes I felt comfortable with. I moved the bushing out to the outer support plate and went with .5 module gears , the closest match I could find since I don’t like cutting my own gears or hardware. I recall them being an odd size...

    Boring and Facing Head

It’s a star wheel activated design, two pins in the upper ring have notches and detects to allow their activation by rotating them so the star wheels either hit the shaft diameter or if no facing movement is desired the notches are turned down so the star wheel passes thru with no contact. Not...

    Boring and Facing Head

Hi Folks This is a Boring head I recently completed. It's designed by Grahm Meeks from across the pond. He did a nice job of creating and machining it. I had to try it myself when I came across it while researching another project. I did change a few things around a bit, as I never could color...

    Solidworks for Mac?

Check out "Draftsight" its a free download product from Solidwoks. I run it on both my pc and MacBook Pro. A tutorial is also available on their site. Very Similar to AutoCad Lt, so much so they were forced to offer it free as part of law suit settlement. : )

    Making a ceramic burner,

I am very interested in the effort you put into the boiler water level circuit and would like to build it. However I have very little experience in electronics so I have been doing my homework on google and talking to some folks I work with. I have a couple of questions if you could help me...

    Holt 4 cyl head question

I used 1" Dia. rings purchased from a vendor at the Cabin Fever Expo. I forget the name but they sold ignition parts like rings, plugs, wires and caps. I made a set of rings for another engine I'm working on from info off the internet. You may want to check the piston to see what dimensions were...

    Hoglet build help.

Found pull cord rewind from my old echo leaf blower. Spring size is .157 wide x .015 the. Perfect. Back on track there, but I did a nice job of machining the 10 degree hole in the wrong shaft so I'll fix that tomorrow. - Johnny O

    Hoglet build help.

Thanks CS. No vacuum around but you got me thinking about an old leaf blower pull starter out in the garage. I'll dig that up and try using it. Thanks

    Hoglet build help.

I'm in the midst of building the Hoglet engine and am looking for a source of spring material for my kick start spring. Not looking forward to cutting down a six inch wide panel and trying to bend it to shape. If anyone has any advice to give before I take this on l'd appreciate it. Thanks...

    Centrifugal Pump Impeller

When I used to work on my old boat more then fishing out of it I had the bilge pump quit on me again. I pulled up the panel and noticed the housing had seperated. Inside was a small 1" dia. Impeller with four offset straight blades. I remember thinking "thats it" this thing throws a full tube of...

    Holt 4 cyl head question

Hi John I think I'm seeing an intersection of you're intake port and a head stud hole. If correct I had a similar situation on my Holt and found it didn't matter in performance as nut at top and flat sealing surface on bottom blocked it off. These heads did require careful drilling as I noted...

    Marine boiler build

Found these showing valve linkage and assembly on shaft eccentric. The cylinders have an o-ring seated in a groove at top and a lagging cover not shown covers them up. I might try insulating the cylinders inside lagging and some more on the supply manifold.

    Marine boiler build

Found my pictures so I'll put em up now. These are the parts I have so far. The pistons in photo have two o-rings but I made new ones with a single teflon piston ring with a silicone o-ring expander underneath. Bearings are sealed type with an open crankcase at bottom to expel any water that...

    Marine boiler build

Well it's been a while and I finally caught up to my DraftSight work on this engine. Made a bunch of changes along the way. I'll put up pics of its progress. This is were Itstands now nearly finished. I need to fabricate the valve linkage next.
