    Cabin Fever Expo 2009?

Cedge, how far away is Heller Town from York. I have a friend there and since a visit is overdue it would be nice to combine them. There is no map of PA in my map box so your help would be great. Ed

    Cabin Fever Expo 2009?

Cedge, how far is it from Heller Town to York PA. I can't find my PA map. Have friends there and it might be a good idea to visit them and the show both at the same time. Only problem up here in January is the weather. Ed

    Christmas surprise

Mel, I just found the distributor in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. They are apparently connected to a company called Gino Cromwel, Hong Kong. They do not list any outlets in the USA. If you want the site, type in Sparber Tools. The list of sites will come up. Ed

    Christmas surprise

My middle son works in the FAG Aerospace facility here in Canada and buys new tools for my shop every Christmas. This is because he spends a lot of weekend time making parts for projects around his house. He bought a new set of verniers calipers for me this year since he didn't think my current...

While on the subject of steam ... boilers!

My phobia is not the safety in a boiler construction since the initial testing can provide a level of confidence with the use of pressure relief valves a respectable distance and either barriers or a container for the boiler. The material suggested for building a boiler is copper. That stuff is...

    MD65 head bearings

HS93,can you post some photos of the head stock from different angles with the covers open so we can get some idea of the unit. Not familiar with the MD65 but pictures could help. I am off to a Thanksgiving dinner today (Canada) but will be back this evening. There are two basic head stock...

    Building it!

kvom, if you are installing all new lighting, ask your supplier about the new T8 fixtures. This unit has an electrontic ballast, no flicker and uses 40% less power. I have them installed in the computer room at the house and currently retro fitting a couple of fixtuers each weekend at the shop...

    Who's Got Ceramic Balls

John, search around your neck of the woods for Machine Tool Spindle repair shops. They should have bearings with ceramic balls in the scrap bin. In many cases where the spindle has a quad set of bearings in it, only one bearing has failed but they replace the whole set. This means you can find...

    The clock at the top

Does the clock also log time spent in the arcade ???. It might be interesting to find out the split between the board and playing around in the games. However, :-\ maybe that statistic should only be available to the guilty party. It is very easy to consume time in there. Ed

    Pi Tape

Rick, they used to use a Pi tape to match new railway wheels on an axle at one time. The wheels are turned on a vertical lathe, measured, marked and then stored by the wheel press for assembly onto the axle. That was back in the 60's, so that may have changed by now. Forgot about that one since...
