B&E electronics in Calgary has a couple different 2v gel cell options. Not sure if they could ship though.

    The great O ring discussion

Question relating to the o-ring debate... How small can CI rings reliably work? For example, Kelly's Tiny Inline 4 engine uses o-rings, but it's only a 3/8" bore. He recommends vinton o-rings, and that was my plan, mostly cause I'm having issues finding CI under 2" diameter and I'm not...

    Slow running 4 stroke

Sorry for bringing back an old thread, but I was reading through here and it got me thinking. Would reducing the compression ratio down to a 4:1 or so also work for slowing down a glow engine? All I could find on google was about adding more nitro to the mix as the CR gets lower. I also...

    Felgiebel 16,6

I'm doing lost PLA, so the 3d printed part is actually burned right out of the plaster mold. These molds are only useable one time, and they are broken apart to reveal the part inside. Attached is a pic of some handles I made. They are about 3/8" (10mm) thick. There has been some grinding and...

    Felgiebel 16,6

I'm learning lost PLA casting in plaster and I've found that adding just a few percent of Portland cement and a few percent of sand really helps with the strength of the mold. The cement really slows down how quickly the mold dries though. I let it cure for a week, then put it in front of a...

    Glow plug v4

There is rumors that ASP makes parts for OS engines, and since i read it on the internet it must be true!

    Glow plug v4

Those prices only apply if you buy OS parts with huge mark up. ASP engine parts can usually be had for around $4 a piston, $4 per ring and about $5 for a cylinder sleeve. Thats around $100 for a v8. Unfortunately though, things like rods and valves are a lot harder to find and a lot more...

    Top Fuel replica engine

Sorry Tin, like i said, i didnt mean any disrespect. I know that both of you and lots of other people on this forum are good at this stuff. Sometimes things dont come out the way they are meant on the internet, so i wanted to make sure that the OP wouldnt get discouraged, and that he would ask...

    Top Fuel replica engine

I mean absolutely no disrespect to either Tin or Steve, but dont let them get you discouraged. If you want to build a top fuel v8, start with doing some research then do some basic drawings, throw them up on this forum, and see what people suggest. People need to start learning somewhere, and...

    Top Fuel replica engine

Not top fuel but closely related, I have started building a 1/4 (semi) scale model of a cosworth dfv to go into a planned model of McLaren M7a. Its approx 1/4 scale, V8, 9.95cc/cylinder, flat crank. I know people arent that judgemental on this particular forum, but i havent posted pics online...

    Mini Drill Press

It would also help us to know what kind of tools you have available. You would be able to make something better and easier if you have a lathe and mill, but nice work has been done in the past with just a hand drill and hack saw.

    RC engine carb mods

Thanks for th pic Kadora, What i am trying to do, is shorten the main needle so that there is as little as possible sticking out of the main body. The throttle lever is good where its at, but i would like to shorten the idling needle too, so that it doesnt stick out from the carb body...

    RC engine carb mods

Hi, I am looking trying to use a model engine carb for my first glow engine build. I ordered one of these to use, and its not here yet so I havent had a chance to play with it. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__13048__ASP_FS61AR_Carb_Assy.html I am looking for ideas to shorten...
