Emco Maximat Super 11 Threading Lever

The threading hasn't been used for 25+ years, what would cause the half-nut lever be frozen, won't even wiggle a little. Looking under, I see grease. The lever is straight down. Feeds aren't engaged.

    Moving my lathe

My first lathe was a 11" Sheldon and when I got home, I'm thinking, how am I going to unload this off the pickup. I could ask the farmer, but I don't ask for help. So my Dad and me put long plank under the lathe and slid inch by inch back, then moved the plank back. Stacked fire wood under the...

    Moving my lathe

I just purchased one of these. http://badgerclamp.com/index.html Our basement has dropped ceiling, so I can take a panel out to get to the 2x10. For a 22" wood lathe, I put the lathe on a hydraulic lift table, then raised it, then put the legs on.

I thought Grizzly would get rid of the flat belt and go to V belt and raise the rpm on the Heavy 10. No way could they make it in this country, labor is to high, to many man hours to build.

    Emco Maximat Super 11 w/mill

Well, it came home with me. I'm going over it, going to change the gear oil, iso 46, need to make a gasket for top gear head cover. I'll be looking for a study rest, carriage stop, set of change gears and maybe 30 tooth gear. I can't believe the apron doesn't run in oil. I have a Shooting Star...
