I recently bought a new twin marine engine & I've had nothing but trouble with it. Firstly it would not run, even at 50 psi. Then I found one of the eccentrics loose.It seemed to exhaust a lot of steam for no movement. I re-tightened the eccentric & it finally started to turn over on it's own...

Now...that's what I'm talking about!

Thanks for your good advice gentlemen....I played around with the slide valve & hey presto...magic happened. The difference in performance is outstanding. I love this forum! Corrado.

Hi guys, Built my first slide valve engine...it's a single cylinder with 5/8 bore & 3/4 inch stroke. Was a big learning process for me.....however it runs weakly & has way too much exhaust steam. It seems the steam is by-passing the cylinder. How can I fix this problem? Cheers.....Corrado.

Hi Mike, You will need a small twin cylinder engine, either oscillator or slide valve so that it will self start. Oscillators are easier to reverse but slide valve engines leak less steam & are more efficient. From my personal experience, I can personally recommend the PM Research V Twin or...
