    Engineman Web site Plans

Hi, Was wondering if anyone had experience ordering plans from this site. https://www.engineman.de/product/plan-4-cylinder-boxer-engine/?lang=en Asked them a question but did not get a reply. Thanks.

First 4 Stroke First V twin.

Well, Apparently it was stupid of me to order plans from Modelltechnik-Jung. Funny thing is Its the first engine I have made that started rather easily. I expected a big struggle to even start it. It took me 4 Two stroke engines before I got one to run and this was my first 4 stroke and it...

First 4 Stroke First V twin.

Hi Mechanicboy. Ok I think I see your point. I did ask the designer for comment but have not received a response yet. So if I set the working angle to 125 degrees , the nose radius calculates to around 1.9 mm and the cam shape changes as seen in the diagram below. So the valves will stay open...

First 4 Stroke First V twin.

Hi, I'm just a novice I used an excel workbook that someone created and fed it values and it came up with a milling table. This is the first page of the workbook all values converted to inch's from the values from the plans. I thought it gave enough values to do the calculations. Base Radius 4.4...

First 4 Stroke First V twin.

Hi, I plugged the values given in the drawing into a excel chart that gave values for cutting on a mill with rotary table. Cuts every 3 Degrees , 120cuts per Cam. I did see the above movie but didn't quite understand it so I used the Method below following the cutting parameters calculated by...

First 4 Stroke First V twin.

HI, I don't really understand all the cam timing stuff I only went by the drawings where it states the following of the cam lobes in relation to each other. Exhaust Cam Cylinder 1 0 Degrees, Inlet Cam Cylinder 1 114 Degrees Exhaust cam Cylinder 2 135 Degrees, Inlet Cam Cylinder 2 249...

First 4 Stroke First V twin.

I adjusted the tappets and fiddled with the mixture and locked the throttle at half open. In this video the engine runs after removing glow leads until I had to stop it as a mounting bolt was coming loose. Some observations. It seemed as if it was running on one cylinder only since I could see...

First 4 Stroke First V twin.

Thanks Steamchick, I already had a fitting to connect a dial gauge to the glow plug hole to find top dead centre so I could do the valve timing. however I would not have an idea of what a pressure gauge should read as good compression. The design does not say what the compression should be.

First 4 Stroke First V twin.

i was thinking about that. When I was attempting to start it for the first time , while it was cranking and not firing I quickly covered the carby intake with my finger for a second or less and it would fire. Started to make it richer bit by bit, so I will continue to do that . The fuel is...

First 4 Stroke First V twin.

Better Bends Cylinder head Completed model. I haven't run it yet I didn't have a setup to run two glow plugs at once so have to work on that now. The OS carb is from an Engine I purchased 40 years ago. That engine still runs, well it did when it had the carby.

First 4 Stroke First V twin.

Hi Started building V Twin 4 Stroke 35CC Engine from Plans from Germany. This is the same model Ghosty has built. Started with Crankcase In December Last year 2021. Built various pieces in an order I thought was appropriate for my skill level. The next images in in a bit of a random order...

    Coaxial Centering indicator VS wobbler

Thanks Charlie. I have instructions with the device much the same as those you posted and I did remove the plastic ring. As suggested by others here I also trammed the mill again. I was comparing the wiggler , the Co-axial indicator and a norga style arm with standard DTI. The wiggler and the...

    Coaxial Centering indicator VS wobbler

Hi, I seem to be having difficulty with my new Axial Centering dial indicator as pictured below, VS a wobbler also below. It seems to me that I get different results finding the center of a hole between the two devices and it appears the the wobbler is more accurate. I say this because when...
