    Brian Rupnow Vertical engine plans

Thanks Sleddog. I had trouble downloading.:wall: All my fault. I had to download a temp. WinZip to accomplish it. Then I saved it to my Documents and printed the blue prints out from there. 51 pages. I hope I didn't miss any. My computer scattered them around in Documents and after finding...

    Brian Rupnow Vertical engine plans

I've searched all over for these plans. Does anyone have a link to them so I can download a copy of them. Or do I have to buy them from Brian. I'm looking for a set of plans to finish off the winter. I just finished a Farm Boy from plans I purchased from Howell's company. Thank you, Merry...

    Farmboy engine

Hello Geartooth: It looks like you did a great job of machining you engine. You're not far away from firing it up. I hope you have done a better job of sealing the valves than I have. I'm getting to wits end on it. I wouldn't think that it would be that critical ,but it must be. Or I...

    Farmboy engine

I don't know if I got it right, but here's a picture of engine. Jim I don't know where your email went but I will pull the head off and redo the valves again. I'm going to try putting a rubber tube on the end of valve and using that to grind them in. I thought someone else would have an idea...

    Farmboy engine

I'm having trouble getting the engine to run. It seems as though I'm losing compression back through the intake valve. I have tried seating it with course grinding compound and also real fine compound. Neither has worked. What else could be defeating my efforts. I have noticed if I run the...

Stirling Mini Fan first build question

I made the Super Stirling by Jerry Howell and I used a long HSS tool to cut the fins. They are .041 wide spaced at .093 apart cut into a square piece of 1.5 aluminum approx .220 deep on a side. It's a long skinny tool ,but it worked. I think I hand ground it from a 1/4"sq. Circle C HSS tool...

How to calculate volume of hole

I save myself trouble by buying Husqvarna oil in small plastic bottles pre-measured for 1 gallon of gas at 1:50 ratio formula . They also have generic for the same thing in 1:40 ratio for other saws. Buy up the bottles and save to refill with your own oil . They are cheap at Lowe's and Home...

    Hall Sensor Bracket

I'd like to know the thickness of the Delrin bracket? I'm guessing it's about .250 . This is the one for "not using spark saver". Also the coil I got from Howell only has one terminal on it besides the spark plug wire. The TIM 6 has a connector for a plus and a minus. How do I connect it to...

pin drills in a HF lathe drill chuck?

I just finished using tiny drills including a number #76 drill on my Jerry Howell Farmboy Engine. I used a Starrett pin vise to hold my drill in a Jacobs chuck. It ran close to being 0.0 on my indicator for T.I.R. on my HF milling machine. It was never any trouble to use the pin vise. I...

    Broken tap Removal

I had the misfortune of breaking a 2/56 tap in cast iron flywheel on my Farmboy engine. Low and behold I tried an old trick I learned in my old place of employment. Get hold of an American made official #1 dart. I picked at the little tap and to my surprise I was able to back it out. I don't...

    Farmboy engine

Hello Jim: I can't believe and don't know how you ever finished it in such a short period of time. You must own a machine shop fully stocked with all the different materials. Most of my time has been spent tracking down the different sizes and types of materials. You did a fabulous job on...
