Already went out and shoveled snow . Already 3 more inches ready to be shoveled I’ll go out in a few minutes but it’s still coming down stuck wet stuff. This stuff sticks like glue to un treasured shovels I’ve used almost a full large can of wd40 just in the shovel the broom is just an impediment I dot even spray it any more it’s like a pusher now. Fortunately it’s not too cold but it’s very slippery. I have to use the shovel for a scoop then rebalance. The last thing I need is to fall in this stuff .
Teflon spray works well, just need to let it dry before shoveling. (dupont also markets a Teflon Snow and Ice Repellant, but it looks & performs like the same, just costs more.

Getting a break today it’s warmed up a bit but more snow on the way plus it due to be very windy with snow tomorrow . Sitting down to sort out these metric taps and drills . I have to clear one hole in the transfer punch set holder . Not really sure what’s wrong I suspect the mold has a plugged hole as the part is plastic . I’m just going to drill it out as far as necessary .

I’m watching it rain today supposed to drizzle all day . It’s good as it beats shoveling and it’s a bit warmer I’ll need the umbrella to walk up to the mail box the rain more or less melts the snow but it becomes giant ice piles self insulating . Nice to just stare out the deck window at that dang shovel LOL LOOKING ST DOESNT WEAR IT OUT AT ALL KITTY IS SITTING ON MY LAP SWITCHING FROM THERE TO THE WINDOW . The geese are coming back they occasionally waddle down the street . She just goes crazy when they are out in the street . My Australian shepherd liked to herd them around she would bark at them to get them together then we marched them to the end of the field where they could fly over to the pond often a 100 or more they made a huge honking noise when they left forvthe pond .

The big snow missed us so far but cold HSS returned with strong winds. Shoveled a bit of snow today but it was the cold wind that made it un comfortable waiting for in home doc visit today probably the usual cognitive tests draw a clock with given time answer a few questions to test memory why can I remember events 75?years ago yet can’t remember a simple sentence today ten minutes later . Probably lack of motivation . Test vitals that’s about it . Had to clear hobby stuff off table so I’ll just move it back after they leave.

well no snow today but it’s cold and very windy for this part of the country . I’ll wait until just before dark to go get the mail , the wind usually drops right after sunset
The big snow missed us so far but cold HSS returned with strong winds. I just heard there was a big fire at the marina where I lived on my boat. I hope no one was injured living on board in Minn is not recommended even a big boat I was on the Miss river it does flow year around but often freezes in the slips so you have to cut ice about every day ice fishing saw does a good job Water temp is around 35 deg depending on weather you can get 4” ice over night easy plus snow the heated water supply hose often freezes so you have to keep water on board as the tanks freeze you can put Rc anti freeze in them but it’s not a good idea to drink much of it heat pumps don’t work well in winter so propane is the go to you have to have many air quality measuring devices. Carbon monoxide detectors and your own blood ox tester . grills on the aft decks So I suppose that’s where the fire started. I had a microwave and stove plus toaster oven and microwave

. Vacuumed then scrubbed the entire kitchen and bathroom today by hand sitting on my roll around stool I’m worn out resting now

I got out in my shop for a bit and measured a tailstock and a steady rest for a lathe to try to figure out what they were made to fit. I got them with some other odds and ends at an estate sale and hoped they might fit my lathe but it seems they are for a 10" Logan lathe and I have a 9" South Bend and a 12" Atlas/Craftsman, so now to find a new owner for them. Seems like my 9" South Bend is from around 1937 and is a Workshop model which is a bit different than later 9" lathes.

You suck.

I'm jealous, looks like you're having alot of fun. Here, 40 deg., wind chill makes it less than 20. Sheesh...

Enjoy

Enjoy just taking it easy today supposed to rain and snow starting Thursday. I arranged for lawn mowing and trimming as I simply can’t do it anymore it’s about as painful to pay to have my minescule postage stamp lawn professionally cut as it is to struggle through doing it myself . My foot gets really sore and I’m usually in a very bad mood after struggling with mowing and trimming .

So today I managed to get a bit more done to the boring head I'm making, yes I know you can buy them for far less than the man hours I'm doing to make one, but its nowhere near as fun, next is to make the mating dovetail, but needs to be tight fit, as there is about 10 thou movement in the clamp lol

Lots of folks in Arizona put down gravel instead of grass, and here in Thailand, a few folks tile their postage-stamp size yard. Or you could put down synthetic grass. A large percentage of my yard is covered with artistic paving stones. Yes, there's an up-front cost to all these solutions, but after that, it's zero cost, and zero maintenance.

I have spent the last few weeks making an angled non-slip jigsaw table for a friend so that she doesn't have to bend over a flat table to do them. Today I got to try a mock-up of the table to see if the pieces would slide off. I borrowed a jigsaw from my friend and put the table at a 45 degree angle. I could place any number of jigsaw pieces on the table without them moving or disturbing pieces next to them. The table would go up to about 50 or maybe even 60 degrees, but we already decided that 30 degrees would be OK. I should get it finished this week and give it to my friend to try out. If she finds that 30 degrees isn't enough, I know it can go higher. She is really looking forward to using it!

Kinda off the topic but we’re visiting NYC. Never been here before. Daughter took us to Phantom of the Opera. Really enjoyed it. Empire State Building today. And a nap!! Tomorrow is Ellis island. Saturday go home. Supposed to be 60+ degrees here today. We go back to Billings Mt on Saturday to 20 deg and 3-4 inches of snow. So the weather man says. I’ll believe the snow when I see it!!!!

nice to see some one else that enjoys making their own tools a bit better than China made stuff
Easy way to fix that problem - - - - seed a pile of wild flowers in the lawn.
Let the crap grow and enjoy watching the polinators! It’s supposed to get colder here and more snow . We have had several days of either light rain or bright sun shine. This has caused rapid reduction of the snow / ice piles a little breeze really helps too I physically can’t mow grass anymore. So I’ve had to arrange lawn service . I really hate this as my postage stamp size lawn takes them ten minutes to cut and another ten to trim. I should be able to do this but I simply can’t . My injured foot just won’t allow it . I may have to have some kind of operation I was supposed to but the pandemic made it so surgeries limited To absolutely required . At least I can shovel

Done with the mowing garbage!!!

I hope you have a few photos you could share with us. If not now, maybe when you get back home. I hope you don't have snow when you arrive home.

INR test done and got good results , so that went well . Still have to go for walk . Sorting out some model stuff I have a pkg of 4 metric taps that I really need has disappeared . I’m going through everything that was moved off the table. I did find the letter opener. I was just going to buy a new one until I found how expensive these are even on Amazon so I did a deeper search untill I found the thing . So I have hopes that the tap page will show up . I did have an eye out for it as I was moving things around. I also noticed another pkg of metric taps is missing I still have a few things to turn over so I’m sure I’ll find them. My sister is a habitual organizer she always says I have a mess on the table then piles everything up in boxes . The funny thing is I left the “ organized box” once again she emptied the box and did not move one thing to a new position . I reminded her the box was in the exact spot she had left it the week before . I even had marked two corners on the table to show it had not been moved . Since the previous week end That did slow her down a little this little tray holds common pens pencils letter opener and post it pad I suppose I should not complain as she does do a lot for me. No snow coming at this time possibly some rain but that will just melt off more of the ice piles in the yard

Enjoying a little sun , it’s nt very warm but supposed to get up to 40 so more snow will melt I’ll go for a walk later to get in daily exercise requirement . Working on steam turbine electric generators I got a piece of UHMWPE. So drilling and tapping holes is much easier I have to come up with adaptor to hold 1/4” hose barb it has a round base with 4 m2 screws so I’m thinking brass disc with hole in it for brass barb then solder and flatten disc I have some thin gasket paper but maybe just use silicone sealer. I’ll use Tyson fuel line for eas of hook up I have some Tessa so I should be able to make a neat looking system longer range I have some 1/4” copper elbows and mating tubing so I might be able to make a manifold. This will come after I get the system running. I have some 1/2” elbows and mating copper tubing . I’d like to bend or shape this and cut a section out for an LED this would be like a street light. So I’ve got plenty to do. I talk daily To my son about progress on the big 1/20” wing B 25 Rc bomber it’s an incredibly complex build he is really detailing it nicely he has 3 big giant scale fighters ready to fly so he will have fun as soon as weather settles down where he lives
