Hi guys, not only am I new to the forum but also to machining, I had wanted to get into it years ago while in the navy in the early eighties. After becoming disabled a few years ago I took some machine tool technology classes at the local community college and now I am getting ready to build my first wobbler, for equipment I have a old Smithy AT300 (1998-2000 model), a Taig mini lathe, and a Proxxon micro mill. I am currently going through the Smithy cleaning it up. Gregg

Hi !
Welcome to the forum !
Nice to have a new member and Good luck .

A warm welcome to the forum. Lots of good people here who are free with their knowledge. And they won't laugh at your questions, I know. ;)
I live in central VA, so not too far away. Just drive past Va Tech on I81, give a friendly wave to the Hokies, and keep going north and east.

Welcome to the forum. everyone here has helped me tremendously with my engines and getting them running, its a good place to learn and ask questions in my opinion.
im SW VA about 30 mins to Bristol on I81.

I live in Johnson City so I would say about an hour from you give or take a few minutes
yep, just about spot on - on the time it takes. im from Lebanon VA. i have to work in JC frequently as the company i work for has an office in JC and in Gray. glad to have some members close by. just wish there was a model show or something near us. like Cabin Fever that everyone talks about.

Uh-Oh. Used machinery... Not too far away..... Sounds like you are stirring up trouble, Richard. Because you can never have too many machines.
" But really... I only had to pay 10¢ on the dollar."

Yeah. I subscribe to a bundle of auctions and it seems to me I rememberr a lot of auctions from the nuclear industry in Dandridge, Maybe I'm wrong. but if not, and if I lived close by, i would be checking that out.

And yess, you should see the mess in my garage with all the machines crammed in and I want MORE! Let me see, a precision grinder, CNC . . . .
