In original box. With original A2 plan. Dated 1971.

Incomplete - looks like it is missing the cross head, crankshaft and connecting rod.

Have spoken to Stuart Turner who recognise the engine, and would be prepared to help with missing parts.

I have a full parts list for you to check.

Looking for £100 or so.

Thank you, Jens.
You can tell I am a novice - just working my way through my Dad's stuff, learning a lot as I go!

P.S. Does that mean it is worth more? Closer to Stuart Turner's current price for castings for a compound engine £265 ex vat????

It is also missing the cast bracket for the slidebars, the flywheel, the bearing caps, all the bar and rod stock, the fastener kit, and the the cylinder lagging sheet. It looks like an original Henley-on-Thames set, which would improve the value a bit. I would say you might get a bit more for it as it is, but not much.

Thanks Charles - would all those bits you mention typically be part of the castings only kit or not?

I'ts not difficult to create missing parts in case Stuart Steam can't send you missing parts.

Thanks again.

I've been in touch with Stuart Turner and they can supply the parts.

Looking for offers then for the above mentioned castings, as they are in the photograph.

The compound launch is not supplied with barstock now so the cost of these should not be knocked off the current Stuart price.

Thanks Jason. Maybe I should try eBay then. I have just seen a set of Stuart Beam Engine Castings go for £200!
