Hi All,
Had a friend drop around this morning with a heap of freebees. Most are new, still in packaging or protectant covering, with a few used, Mainly 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 7/16 and 1/2".
Hope to find a use for them over time.

His father was a tool maker, has had this stuff sitting in the shed for a few years. I have done some small jobs for him lately.
After going through the cutters almost half are ball end mills, or radius cutters.

Yes the will be it, just most of the radius cutters are hand ground from end mills, so I have no idea what size they are. Just some thing to look at when I have more time, will post some pics tomorrow.

So all you need now is to make yourself a Quorn tool & cutter grinder and they can all be ground up with pukka radii and cutting geometry. Castings still available in Oz, I think.

Probably the Bonelle can do the same but without the desirability of using castings. Yes, the Quorn CAN be made without buying them!

Whatever route, the Quorn is a great tool as one's master piece and weeds out the talkers and writers:wall:

For a bit of 'retail therapy', I have lashed out and bought a RDG possibly Vertex tool and cutter grinder with two sets of collets to accommodate my imperial and metric needs.

The machine isn't cheap but considerably cheaper than the Deckel and Alexander.

Coming with an extra £170 of gadgets- freehDe it will be interesting to see how earlier criticisms of the machine fare.

Yes, yes, I know that it will not 'do' dies and possibly taps( BA ones- ho ho) but hell I do get somewhat pissed off with claims about the questionable joys of penny pinching.
