Default Yet another Arduino Powered RT

Took the little snippet
"laststep = round(stepsDiv * lastPosition);
nextstep = round(stepsDiv * currentPosition);
divSteps = abs(nextstep - laststep);"
from Chuck Fellows RT program, wrapped it with a NES Controller,
a 20x4 LCD, menu one for divisions, one for degrees, variable step rate.
mounted a little 3" RT to an angle Plate, attached a little Taig chuck. . .
Ya way too much free time...

Gave it a try and Poof, cut a hex. Definitely needs a tail-stock support but that's for another day.

Had to skew the RT to the angle plate as plate, well more of a case of working with what is laying around. It seems to work, cut 6 which is a go over of cut one was clean. What to do with it? Something will come up, it was fun to do...

Little too cold out - There's snow on them hills . . .

So went to the cubby hole room and played with the RT - Centering the chuck mount? Lets just say would not place that high on my Joy Joy list...And then OK use a .187 regular end mill to cut 'Vs' every 15 degrees--Math! Find the top, move Y x amount, lower Z x amount-- Item 2 not for the Joy Joy list.
Then after many repeated movements-- The end result - A thing -

And it's not even saw toothed (won't mention try 1)
Having the RT mount same thread as the lathe spindle, That's a JoyJoy...

Default Nice job building

I have been searching for the best pkg to put a RT with Arduino and yours looks to be the cleanest by far.
Thanks for posting.

The coding heart came from the cfellows rotary table posting.
The package [box] scheme came from the well detailed rotary table posting by bmac2. Simple, neat and clean which I believe, defines elegant . . . Rodw also did a rotary table posting, just a tad over my skill level, well a lot over my skill level . . .
