Default Clarence, a Clapper Engine

This is an engine that my grandfather and I worked on. Based on the plans "Clarence, a Clapper Engine." We adapted the plans to use materials we had on hand.

Video of the engine running. Unfortunately the quality of this video clip makes it appear that the engine starts and stops, when in fact it is running fast.

You almost did it!!! If you get your engine to turn exactly 1800 rpm (30 Hz) you can have a running engine that in the video doesn't move at all.

So I'm guessing this guy was spinning pretty fast or your speed was close to 1/4, 1/2, or the full 1800.

...Ved.
