Fixed the issues with the site. Sorry for the confusion, was a tricky problem to track down.

Don't think you got them all... Until yesterday, I did not receive the ads that are now plastered all over the forum. I see that fluofflueste is now spamming almost every thread. The forum is sloooooowwwww loading.

I am not a supporting member and did not get the ads...until now!

Chuck

There are some that are 'sleepers' that may still pop up if I block some of the new spammers.

And if a Supporting Member you can make the ads and side bar not seen by using your Edit Options.

Thanks, but I'll just use Firefox...

Until I logged on yesterday I had the option to not display ads but this is now gone. As a poor student with 4 kids and a wife, I can't justify paying for forum membership but I thought I was supporting the forum by posting and sharing information. If it comes to a choice of a terribly slow forum bogged down with ads that is nearly impossible to post to, or paying for something I can't afford, then I guess I'll have to take the third option and move elsewhere.

Cogsy, please, do yourself a favor. Try Firefox, with adblock plus, a free add in. If you make HMEM the home page, and only view HMEM in it, you won't get the ads loading and suffer the slowness.
I am totally retired and on a very modest pention, and that's why I use it. I was a computer support guy for the last 20 or so years of my working life, also had a modest business. Though a died in the wool Microsoft supporter, who prefers IE, I had to go to firefox to defeat the intrusive ads...
