    Mill has 15" Y travel. But this won't be used for very large pieces.

    Although my Novakon NM200 is a quite capable mill, it's max spindle speed is only 4000 RPM. For
    small endmills and engraving, the lack of sufficient RPMs means slower feed rates and less than
    optimum ...

    I notice you use rougher endmill for aluminum. Any advantages there? I've only used them on
    steel.

    Maury built the first one with aluminum castings, and it runs well. The kit has iron castings,
    but is otherwise the same. It's a great looking engine but clearly not for beginners.

    I suspect you'll need to modify the "counts per unit" field in the motor configuration to get
    the proper travel.

    2-flute endmills work best as they clear chips best. I wouldn't use the 4-flutes ever. Air
    blast can clear chips, or use WD40.
