7075 4" random length (10-12") is $140 at OLM. An honest 12" is $155. Plus they have 20% off
now. good price, and I would never quote Mcmaster as the cheapest around, (oddball things
maybe), but its...

I also ordered a 4" by 10" 7075 rod to make the crankcase and cam cover. It was $50 shipped and
I think I'm going to set it on the bench for a while until I gain more experience with the

I guess I'm still being contrary, or perhaps it's a matter of semantics, but, the magnetic
field is directly proportional to the current. As a result, all of the current is necessary to
sustain the fi...

Umm, not to be contrary, but the physics magic is slightly backwards of that... The current
builds in the coil and reaches its maximum once the field saturates. Back-EMF is produced by
the changing fi...

Thank you PeteHey Jeff,Your boxer twin sounds cool, do you have a build thread?Necer seen the

Looks like a nice piece. I will get my guess in and vintage it circa 1961 in case anyone starts
a pool. :D Never seen one before, however, sorry.

Why it works is a cute trick of physics. The sudden inrush of current to a coil builds the
magnetic field, the current required to hold this magnetic field is much smaller. The rate of
collapse, and s...

Would it be a bad idea to use double flare fittings like a brake line?
